Head of School's Welcome

I invite you to visit Eagle Cove School

As parents, we all wish the best for our children. We are willing to make sacrifices for their future. We want them to be well-educated and ethical adults. We hope they will be happy. And when they are very young, we realize we have an enormous choice to make—where they will go to school.
This choice lays the foundation for the rest of our children’s lives. It is in early childhood and elementary school that a crucial beginning is created and strengthened. If the foundation builds properly, children’s natural sense of discovery segues into joy of learning in a more formal and sustained way.

Our job as parents is to choose a school that will help our children develop a strong work ethic and an interest in high performance—a school that will involve them through both classical and hands-on learning. I invite you to visit Eagle Cove School, where highly professional and nurturing teachers work with very small classes to help each child become his or her best within a community of hard work, joy and fun.

An ECS education is unforgettable, and this is why our alumni come back year after year to visit and relive fond memories. The history and tradition of the school provide excellent bases for innovations such as the yearly portfolio program, in which students’ best written work is bound and presented to parents at the end of the year. The fifth grade laptop program is a natural extension of our computer instruction which begins in Pre-K and gives children increasingly more sophisticated skills each year. Best of all, our small class size means every child is truly known and reached.

The ECS journey takes place on what may be the most beautiful campus setting in Anne Arundel County, if not Maryland, on the Magothy River and the Chesapeake Bay. For ECS, our status as a Maryland Green School is infused into everything we do, from composting and recycling to performing hands-on environmental action projects to improving the watershed and our Earth. Our children are working right now to make the world a better place. Come visit us to see the ECS journey unfold.
